4th of July Parade
The 4th of July is just around the corner. We have the float design, which is the easy part. Now we have to build the float. We need volunteers with power tools and who can help build another AWARD WINNING float. If you can help or know someone who is willing to help build the float, please contact me as soon as possible.
Contest will be at 9:45 SHARP! If you are not there you will not be judged - no exceptions. See registration form for more details.
Only Daisy's and people unable to walk in the parade will be allowed on the float this year. Brownies will be allowed only if there is room. It will be required that a few adults ride the float with the younger girls. It will be a first come first served basis. No one will be allowed to ride in the truck pulling the float.
More details on the registration form.
A couple of things to keep in mind.
1. Pets should be kept at home. It is a health and safety concern for our Girl Scouts and adult volunteers. You will be asked not to participate if you bring your pet.
2. No profanity should be used during the parade. You should be setting a good example for our daughters and you are representing Girl Scouts during the parade. If it is heard you will not participate with Girl Scouts next year in the parade.
Registration Form (form available closer to event) - I need all registration forms, so I know how many patches to purchase.
Only registered participants (girls) will receive patches. I will not reorder patches. It will be up to you to get your patches from me. Otherwise you can pick them up in your mailbox at the Service Unit Meeting in the fall.
Permission Slip - Troop leaders need to make sure they have these forms. If the parent is with their daughter then this does not have to be filled out.
Health History Form - This form should be filled out by everyone (parents, leaders, volunteers and girls) attending the parade with Girl Scouts. This is good information to have in the event of an emergency.
Photo Release Forms - No photo's should be used without this form signed by the parent of the child being photographed and/or published anywhere.
